Memory care · Provo, Utah

Days filled with purpose, laughter, and connection.

Aspen’s memory day program gives seniors a safe place to stay active, known, and engaged—and gives family caregivers meaningful time to rest, work, and recharge.

Compassionate memory care

More than supervision. A place to belong.

Memory changes can make ordinary days feel smaller. At Aspen, familiar routines, welcoming faces, and thoughtfully guided activities create opportunities for success—not tests to pass.

We help seniors with memory loss stay at home longer. Since 2009, Utah Valley families have trusted Aspen to care for adults living with Alzheimer’s, other forms of dementia, Parkinson’s, and related conditions. The program is non-medical, highly personal, and built around the whole person.

Care that feels personal

Every participant is known by name, routine, strengths, and the things that bring them joy.

A thoughtful next step

When might memory day care help?

Day care can add support before a crisis, while home is still where your loved one belongs.

  • Days at home are becoming lonely, inactive, or difficult to structure
  • Confusion, restlessness, or wandering is creating new safety concerns
  • A loved one is withdrawing from conversation, hobbies, or friends
  • Family caregivers need dependable time for work, appointments, rest, or other responsibilities

The Cognasium approach

Four essentials for a fuller day

Aspen calls its whole-person approach Cognasium—“a gymnasium for the brain.” Each day blends mental stimulation, physical activity, good nutrition, and active socialization in ways that feel enjoyable and achievable.

Mental stimulation

Familiar, hands-on activities that invite success without pressure.

  • Reminiscence, music, and conversation
  • Games, puzzles, and art projects

Movement & wellness

Gentle daily movement that supports strength and balance.

  • Chair-based and standing exercise
  • Medication reminders and personal care

Good nutrition

Nutritious meals and snacks, enjoyed together at the table.

  • Lunch, snacks, and hydration
  • Help at mealtimes as needed

Social connection

Friends, laughter, and a team that knows each person by name.

  • Friendships built day by day
  • Staff trained in dementia communication

The Aspen rhythm

A day that feels familiar and reassuring.

A steady, predictable rhythm is comforting for people living with memory loss. Within that rhythm, activities are shaped around the people in the room.

  1. Arrive

    A familiar welcome

A warm greeting and an easy transition into the day’s routine.

  2. Engage

    Cognasium activities

Mental stimulation, creative projects, movement, music, and conversation.

  3. Connect

    Meals and friendship

Nutritious food shared with friends in a relaxed, social setting.

  4. Return

    Home with a fuller day

Families reconnect after a day shaped by purpose, care, and companionship.

Support for the whole family

Respite is part of good care.

Caring for someone with memory loss asks a great deal of a family. Support during the day can make it more sustainable to keep caring at home—and can help everyone enjoy their time together more.

Adult day programs are recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association and National Institute on Aging as a way to offer social activity, exercise, meals, personal support, and caregiver respite.
